The focus on the class is how to use ready to wear products as ‘bases’. By learning how to manipulate bases with by blending them with other natural components, vendors can create a mulitidude of new attractions for their line with just a few starter products. This is a cost-effective way to create custom products that are particularly pertinent for an individual businesses clientele, thereby increasing the return rate.

Copyright and Intellectual Property: How to effectively protect your business. This is a very valuable and popular class. Mrs. Platko guides attendees through the legal intricacies of intellectual property protections, including trademark and copyright. She also teaches how to create branding that is unique, which naturally helps protect a vendor from copycats. While not dispensing legal advice per-se, Mrs. Platko was a trademark analyst for a major D.C lawfirm for over ten years. Her suggestions and insight for new as well as existing businesses.
Blending with Bases: Make 10 natural spa care products using pre-made lip bases.
In this class, Mrs. Platko will teach participants how to start with product: simple lip gloss and lip stick base, and use it to create ten new products, including a lotion bar, sugar scrub, solid perfume, cuticle and nail butter, peppermint foot balm, a diaper rash ointment, and more.

Making an Impact with Product Labels:
This workship will be taught by David, owner/operator of the up and coming private labelling company, the first targetted toward the cosmetics industry; Arcana Labels. He will use his experience as a private label manufacturer for the spa and makeup industry to assist vendors in understanding and choosing options for their product labels, such as materials, color palettes, font choices, and other resources. His class reveals inside information that is invaluable for vendors navigating the world of private labelling.
Blending with Bases: How to create Your Own Line of Cosmetics Easily and Economically \
A rose by any other name is still a rose. The same does not apply to mineral make up. A foundation can be an eyeshadow, a blush can be be a lip color, and a bronzer can be a setting powder. Monave founder, Deborah Bilezikian, shows participants how to use loose bulk products to create a complete line of cosmetics, simply, and without requiring the tedious blending of raw materials. With a limited collection of products, a full line launch can be achieved.
